Waste Knights: Second Edition is a post-apocalyptic game of adventure and survival for 1-4 players inspired by cult classics of the post-apocalyptic movies and set in dystopian Australia, destroyed by forbidden experiments of a powerful corporation, Cerbero. The continent was bought and broken in two by these experiments and now kneels divided, awaiting its fall. The government is nonexistent, and so are any laws of men. Desolate wastelands are roamed by mutated beasts, decades-old machines, and degenerate humans who are even more dangerous. In those few pockets of civilization left, people are more interested in survival than in progress.
Each player becomes a rugged hero, traveling through the wasteland, facing unnatural weather and enemies forged in long-forgotten laboratories, as well as experiencing adventures full of dramatic choices and disturbing characters. You are among these heroes—shining beacons of courage in a brutal age—symbols of what humanity has lost, eternal wanderers who rise to challenge the ruined world and help those in need.
The heart of the game is its story-driven adventures. Each playthrough is based on an adventure found in the Guide. Some adventures are cooperative, others competitive, and some may even divide players into rival factions. Each adventure branches out into a number of Plots revealed depending on the players’ narrative choices. This guarantees high replayability and offers unique game mechanics and stories that can be found in the Book of Tales. Some entries are keyed to particular adventures, while others are generic, but all enable players to immerse themselves in the setting and make decisions that change the world around them. Special cards also trigger narrative effects closely tied to the current storyline.
Players have 2 actions per turn, allowing them to travel across the continent in their customized Vehicles, explore areas for ever-dwindling Resources (Fuel, Ammo, Meds), or camp to repair Gear and heal Wounds or Radiation. Adventures add unique Plot Actions that let players shape the story and fulfill their goals.
The game also features a massive board with over 40 distinct special locations and cities to visit for danger and discovery. Combined with intricate mechanics and immersive storytelling, Waste Knights: Second Edition invites players on deeply engaging adventures set in a darkly thrilling world.
